Ministry Names and Functions.

EVANGELISM:

We evangelize by staging crusades House to House, every month we have 1 big crusade, in a year 12 crusades. We use hired Public Address system/equipment which sometimes bring inconveniences but we are trusting God to give us our own Public Address Systems and all other requirements for effective evangelism. Please join us in prayer. And also we invite evangelists to come and join us in these great crusades and teams of people who have the ministry of house-to-house evangelism to come and join Ugandan team for a great harvest.

CHURCH PLANTING PROJECT:

    1. UNREACHED PEOPLE:

It is estimated that in Uganda only 7% live in towns, 93 % in villages yet most churches have been planted in towns leaving most villages

unreached. That is where True Word Ministries comes in with a commitment to reach the unreached villages with the gospel and plant churches there. Beginning with Budiope County.

    2. BUDIOPE CHURCH PLANTING PROJECT (Target Area).

Budiope County is composed of 5 sub counties and it is the most remote county in Busoga Region, which region is made up of five districts. Budiope is the centre of witchcraft in Busoga region and the most unreached county in the region of Busoga– Uganda.

True Word Ministries has a task of planting 70 churches in Budiope County alone focusing 10 churches a year.

Requirements:

  1. 10 church caretaker sponsorship.

Church caretakers are people who are to take care of the churches for a period of 3 years as we train a local pastor to take over.

  2. Land purchase.
  3. Operational costs.
  4. Bicycle for a church caretaker.

CHILD SPONSORSHIP: No: 600 children - year: 2002 – 2003  (War/AIDS orphans and poor needy children).

PROBLEM STATEMENT.

From 2002 national census, it was indicated that Uganda has 24.6 million people and out of this 2 million children have been orphaned due to rampant AIDS epidemic, it is now estimated that due to both AIDS and war there are over 2 million orphans. The number of orphans as a result of AIDS is far greater the number of children made orphans due to civil wars.

Uganda National Income per capita is about US $360 against National Debt burden. 55% of Ugandans live below poverty line. They can just earn and spend US $25 per month. There is too much unemployment.

An average Ugandan family has 12 persons while mostly bread earners in such families are the ones killed by AIDS. The only appropriate intervention for this situation is only through the church.

What your monthly child support will cater for:

Your support will cater for a child’s fees, food, clothing, treatment, bedding, scholastic materials, spiritual development, social development etc. at Buwenge – Uganda.

OMEGA MODERN PRIMARY SCHOOL.

Omega Modern Nursery and Primary school started in 2002 by True Word Ministries – Uganda; with the purpose to provide basic education for orphan children who have lost their parents because of AIDS epidemic and the poor needy children in Uganda.

Presently the school lacks classrooms and lessons are being conducted in temporary shelters. The mother organization owns land on which permanent classrooms can be built.

HIV/AIDS AWARENESS AND CARE.

Community sensitization and moral rehabilitation, counseling, workshops and seminars are done twice a month but in order for us to be more effective we need to have a video equipment, van, Assorted games equipment, therapy/drugs, family income generating project, food etc. Presently we get local financial support from individual church members who have got a heart to help the AIDS patients. Over 1 million people live with AIDS in Uganda. It has affected mostly the youth between age group of 15 and 24 years and that is why our main focus are schools.

We call organizations, churches, individuals, and well-wishers world wide to give us a hand in anyway you can in the fight against AIDS.

 HEALTH SERVICES:

NABITULA HEALTH CENTRE

Nabitula is a very big village and highly populated. It has over 2000 people who believe so much in witchcraft where by when a child falls sick of malaria the child is taken to shrines (to witch doctors) where by many have ended up dying. That is why our goal is to build a health centre for the purpose of improving the health of the people of this village and the surroundings.

MOBILE CLINICS

This is where health workers move from village to village and place to place to immunize children of preventable diseases and sensitize communities on how to avoid these diseases. We therefore invite voluntary nurses, dentists, eye specialists and doctors to come and visit with True Word Ministries – Uganda for two weeks or more as we give free services to communities.

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CENTRE

It is for computer training, typing, crafts, tailoring, knitting, etc. for self-reliance. Target groups are widows and youth.

Presently we have one computer and three typewriters. Our plan is to have at least 15 computers, 20 typewriters, 20 sewing machines and 3 knitting machines. We plan to have at least 60 people training in the morning and more 60 in the afternoon. Skills training volunteers have a place and a role to play in our Skills Development Centre.

YOREMO (Youth Revival Movement).

It is for church youth camps, conferences & seminars, workshops, general canseling, training/career guidance, youth to youth sponsorship and Christian pen pal link.

YOREMO is to be launched officially in 2003 August. The official launch will bring youth from all over the world. Invited are the youth/leaders, youth pastors, youth singing groups and gifted youth camp speakers. Don’t miss this international launch.

ANNUAL INTEGRITY CONFERENCE.

It is fore church workers i.e. pastors, teachers, elders, deacons, youth leaders, women leaders. It brings together over 400 leaders. It is scheduled for 10th – 15th March 2003. Invited are pastors, Bible teachers, Singers, and participants Worldwide.

SELF HELP PROJECTS

These are mainly for the widows and the poor families. The purpose of this is to make these families self supporting. We would love to give each family $200 USD to make project of a family choice i.e Poultry rearing, Sewing, Knitting, Retail shop, etc and to twin one family to a family abroad. We are to start with

10 widows for the phase as a model. If you would love to help a family/widow please contact us.

PASTORS’ SUPPORT.

Our plan is to support each pastor by giving him a Friesian cow with a purpose of making him self-supporting. In Africa a church is not able to pay her pastor though they want to do so but because most of them lack jobs they are unable.

So many pastors are serving the Lord faithfully. But when their families are going without food sometimes and their children are not going to school. And because of this, pastors’ children are regretting as to why their parents are pastors and they don’t even dream of becoming pastors in their lifetime. So pastors’ children need sponsorship as well.
